Tips for maximizing space in your timber frame home: The home gym edition

Having a timber frame home is one of the prides that many owners will talk about once they are settled in.  Many consider timber frame homes to be an investment simply because of the nature of the market.  Aside from being investment properties that make for incredible photos of rustic homes in the outdoors, they are homes and people actually live in them!  The following tips are provided to help you maximize your space in your timber frame home and stay healthy at the same time.

Tip 1: Get a Folding Weight Bench

This is probably the best option for saving space.  A folding weight bench will save on the footprint of your main piece of gym equipment.  A folding or travel bench can be taken anywhere (to a different room) or slide it under the couch out of site!

Tip 2: By an Adjustable Dumbbell Set

Your piece of equipment should be an adjustable dumbbell set.  Virtually every exercise that you could dream of doing can be accomplished with both a utility bench and a set of dumbbells.  Adjustable dumbbells are the ultimate cost effective and space saving piece of home gym equipment out there today.  There are many options for adjustable dumbbells depending on your strength and the increment jumps in weight that you would like to make for exercise selection.

Tip 3: Refer to tips 1&2

The last tip is simply to remind you that you need both a folding bench and adjustable dumbbells.  These can turn a spare room into a gym in seconds without the clutter of big, clunky home gym type equipment.  Part of being a timber frame home owner is being able to show off your gorgeous post and beam construction.  The ability to hide your gym equipment and minimize the space and footprint that your equipment takes up is a must.  These two simple tips will allow you to accomplish just that!
